Alfa Suds didn't rust - they dissolved!

Mine did just that ... but while it lasted it was a great thing to drive... and the sound of the exhaust was just lovely... very raspy...

Don't think so. BMW have rolls and mini

Yup, you're right, it's Fiat (scroll down to "Guide to Car Corporations":https://www.consumerreports.org/cars-who-owns-which-car-brands/

As I said though, it's not a proper Maserati, built by Maserati... As indeed they were at one time, which has diluted the magic of the marque, and what made it special. And sadly that applies to the cars from many once prestige companies.

Raining all day here. Cold too. It's a bit rubbish.

Here as well... it's a nightmare for Sunny Portsmouth...

Car temp said 12° which is rubbish for end of May

Looks like a similar day to yesterday ie a bit chilly and wet. Doing a briefish indoor job this morning then I'll have an early dart. Catch up on Magnum PI and "Billions".

Eleven days from now and I'll have a week of guaranteed better weather. Forecast only goes to 8th June when it will be a sunny 28C, so that'll be me outside a bar with a cold beer moaning about the heat :(

No more Magnum PI now until the Autumn :(

After a cool start, the temperature has risen quickly and it's now 21C. Should be a decent day by the look of things.

Well the last one I saw had Higgins doing a long swim with a bullet in her arm, so there must be one or two left on catch up.

That London does seem to enjoy better temperatures. Whether it's enough to justify the house prices and knobhead drivers I don't know. If you've finished paying for your house and you don't need a car, happy days!

Temperature always seems to be better in Marco's corner of the world - someone should tell him that keeping your thermometer in the greenhouse doesn't count. Any minute now :D

Perhaps I spoke too soon. The sun has gone and dark clouds are rolling in. Hmm.

Bit better today, dry with sunny spells, and much warmer at 18C, but accompanied by quite a strong wind... As Del's off work until Monday, we're going to a nice country pub later for lunch, along with my dad, so looking forward to that:cool:

I do need a break Marco, not been anywhere for a couple of years. I'm hoping to get down to the west country for a spell in the next week or two if I feel up to it.

A lot of the towpaths are a squishy mess. Not great for cycling.

Thought so, mate. Has your health not been too good again lately?

If you feel up to it, you should get down there, away from the gloom and misery of the big smoke. The fresh air alone, and the feeling of relaxation and tranquility, would do you the power of good:)

We're going to Italy (by car) this year for 3 weeks, taking my dad with us, and travelling through France and Switzerland along the way. It's the first time we've been in 7 years, so am really looking forward to it and seeing some of my relatives back in the 'old country'.

Plus, as my dad's 86 now, it might be the last chance he gets to do the journey he loves (he's been driving to Italy by car, usually from Scotland, for over 50 years), although of course this time I'll be driving, and also see his family. Anyway, it'll be something for us all to look forward to... Plenty of pics will be taken and posted on our return.

I know you're retired now, but I'm sure you'll agree that everyone needs a break sometime, and there's more to life than just work, and drudging along on the same old boring daily routine!

Had a lovely pub lunch with my dad and Del. He loves going out to eat, especially to quaint old country pubs, and so does Del. A very enjoyable day was had, and since around midday, the weather has been superb.

Had a lovely pint of this Shropshire pale ale with my meal (Three Tuns Cleric's Cure), from the oldest brewery in Britain: http://www.threetunsbrewery.co.uk/buy.htm

Gorgeous stuff!

Currently, weather-wise, the sun's splitting the skies and it's 23C! Happy days:)

I had a bottle of that a while back. It's a tasty drop. Used to drink a lot of India Pale back as a teenager.

Marco

Nice one, mate. It certainly was a tasty drop. If I hadn't been driving, I could've quite easily sat and enjoyed another couple of pints!

Pale Ale, like that, from small specialist local breweries, is what I like drinking in good pubs. If it's a boiling hot day though, I'll have pint of some European-type Pils, but not the run-of-the-mill shite like Stella.

This is my favourite place in Chester, for having a really wide selection of real ales and interesting Pils-type beers: https://www.telfordswarehousechester.com/the-bar/

Check out the bar area: https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x487add37865d32ad%3A0x6be9dfb642501abe!2m22 !2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i20!16m16!1b1!2m2!1m1!1e1!2m2! 1m1!1e3!2m2!1m1!1e5!2m2!1m1!1e4!2m2!1m1!1e6!3m1!7e 115!4shttps%3A%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp% 2FAF1QipO1oi16xMP1bGvGLgByXvyIu40u9gK5ZlT_b3qb%3Dw 601-h352-k-no!5stelfords%20warehouse%20-%20Google%20Search!15sCAQ&imagekey=!1e10!2sAF1QipO1oi16xMP1bGvGLgByXvyIu40u9 gK5ZlT_b3qb&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjU1NfM48PiAhWyQRUIHbRVDBAQoiowDXoECAsQB g

Quality, eh?:D

The grub is outstanding, too - especially the steaks! You'd love it. Next time you visit, I'll take you:cool:

Looks good. Always were some really good pubs in Chester. Used to get the bus over there sometimes when I was at University. There was a Crosville ran right through the campus and went all the way to Chester. Took about an hour and half to get there but it only cost a quid. There was a proper American steak house place where the food came on wooden platters too. That was excellent. I bet it's closed down long ago though. Can't remember the name. It was there all through the 1970s and 1980s.

Marco

Sounds cool... Joints like that still exist, and indeed there are more bars and eateries in Chester now than ever.

It's a cool place to hang out in the evening or to go shopping. We socialise there much more than we do in Wrexham, which is too full of chavs. There are direct buses into Chester and back to Wrexham every 15 mins, right up until 8pm, then every half hour after that, so ideal if you want to have a few scoops...

Here's a good pic of the inside of Telford's - give an idea of the vibe: https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x487add37865d32ad%3A0x6be9dfb642501abe!2m22 !2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i20!16m16!1b1!2m2!1m1!1e1!2m2! 1m1!1e3!2m2!1m1!1e5!2m2!1m1!1e4!2m2!1m1!1e6!3m1!7e 115!4shttps%3A%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp% 2FAF1QipO1oi16xMP1bGvGLgByXvyIu40u9gK5ZlT_b3qb%3Dw 601-h352-k-no!5stelfords%20warehouse%20-%20Google%20Search!15sCAESAggD&imagekey=!1e10!2sAF1QipNvmx-L7QdKrckliDeF8frGrVfRKkZ8bjQmXKiT&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjU1NfM48PiAhWyQRUIHbRVDBAQoiowDXoECAsQB g

At night, it's quite dark and candlelit, and they also do some good live music. Mostly local bands, some of which have been rather good!

26C here and warm enough for me. Cut the grass and did a bit of tidying up - but soon retreated to the cool of indoors, to play some music.
