View Full Version : Wondering about the iFi iPower PSU for RBPi
Having a look at this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/iFi-iPower-Noise-Adapter-Travel/dp/B01GNNXP0Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549536816&sr=8-1&keywords=ifi+ipower
I'm wondering if anyone uses this and has found it worth the price?
I do notice from some of the reviews it's showing the "lightening symbol" for supply issues, it's rating is the same as the recommended for RBPi...
I'm currently powering my RBPi with a powerbank/portable charger which is nice due to it being battery powered but it runs out quite fast so I'd like a more permanent supply without sacrificing (too much) sound quality. Will the iFi iPower do the job?
they get a decent rep. have considered one myself
a dearer option was this https://www.collybia.com/product/mambo-power-supply/ Only issue with the ifi is it is not fitted with a correct connector so you need an adaptor i believe.

I bought one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25VA-Ultra-Low-Noise-linear-power-supply-output-DC-5V-3A-upgrade-Raspberry-pi-3/142731699776?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649.
Can't say anything negative about it! How it compares, i don't know but i am very happy.

What supply are you using at the moment?
(An aside. I see you're using Volumio (as am I). I'm liking it very much but was wondering does the Volumio OS only let you use it as a music player or is there a further interface that you can access web browsers etc through? I'm assuming not as it seems to just be an OS for playing music).

its just that really.. if you join you can get your tidal account straight to the volumio tho. I am currently just using a standard pi wallwart now as i leave it on all the time. used to use a battery, and have used a linear too.

The android app is a little mis-sized in places but can't complain too much.
I'm tempted to just buy the standard for £8 and see how it fairs
