That time of the year again

Right I am about to take the plunge and have a flu jab anybody had one this year and if so any adverse or cranky reactions. I had a real nasty flu last year and don't want to end up being a member of the walking dead this winter. Any advice chaps?

Had mine a couple of weeks back, no problems, just a aching arm for a couple of days.

I've been having one every year for the last fifteen years or so. I had to pay originally, but get them free now being over sixty. I was prone to catching every bug around, so it seemed a sensible precaution.

I don't even feel the jab as a rule, the needle is tiny. I've never had any soreness or other after effects at all. Not caught Flu either.

Had mine about a month ago.

I gather the jab is best administered in October, as it takes a little while for the body to organise its resistance to potential Flu infection.

Yeah, i was down at docs and with everything else getting check we forgot lol. I get one as my lungs are knackered and flu is dangerous for me. I didnt get it last year either as i caught a virus just before i was to get it :doh:

I've had mine and it ached for a couple of days, same as always.

I was clever this year, mind, and got it in my left arm.

Cant get an appointment :doh: speaking to doc today, but on phone. Getting rediculous these days. Too many incomers to area and docs have tbh not kept up.

Had mine last week, but have managed to pick up a bug now off work after a visit to the doctor this morning

Yet another toxin administered into our blood stream which effect is diminished with each passing year. I had mine as normal last year and had the worst cold ever. Unless you have respiratory problems i think it's a load of bollocks.

But it's not for protection against colds Steve.

Yes, its against what is thought to be this years likeliest flu bugs, but isnt guaranteed to stop you getting flu. Remember a few of us in the containment ward were complaining they had had the jab and cant have flu... but they did,like me had pig flu....damn near killed me that. Did kill a couple next door to my ward. Vicious that one was.
