Well actually, it's not. Well not here at the moment.
I just thought I'd post the latest 'Crap Weather' thread before it gets usurped again.
Showers (maybe) tomorrow. I need a day or two more dry days really. Stuff to finish outside! :)

Weather calm here this morning. Sun shining, cat asleep, wifey gone shopping. Forecast says it's going to p'ss down on the weekend. :)
As I'm currently enjoying my morning cappuccino, croissant and freshly-squeezed orange juice, whilst browsing the forum, the sun is shining brightly, and there are pretty clear blue skies. It's also pleasantly warm :)
How about we play a little game? Starting from today, until the same time next Thursday, count how many rainy days you get during that week (when it rains, you can announce it here, daily, if you wish, or simply supply the total of rainy days at the end of the week), and we'll run this every week until the end of the month, and see who lives in the wettest area of the country! :eyebrows:
NB - a 'rainy day' constitutes when it's been raining solidly for most of the day, not a 'wee cloudburst' or a few spurts of moisture at some point [Granty, don't start :D]

Sun was out first thing, but its going overcast. Coolish too, but typical for Sept hear. We are a bit farther north, geese will be arriving from Greenland any day.

I never thought I'd be saying it but we really could do with some decent rain here. Just returned from 2 week Holiday and the garden is like a desert. I have lost several well established shrubs and the rest are struggling to stay alive. The only shrubs which look OK are the Roses, all others are very sick indeed. The veggie patch is like the Sahara with everything dead and shrivelled.
Why do we have to have all or nothing instead of a happy medium ?

Normally my car is parked in the garage. But recently I have left it out in front, where it gets covered in condensation in the mornings. Despite the recent gorgeous weather, Autumn is a comin' - it gets cooler quicker in the evenings and the nights are starting to draw in.

It was nice today. Sunny and pretty warm. At least I got my shed roof finished :).

Yep, I'm going to get wet tomorrow travelling back. Joe wasn't far off, it is the remanants of a hurricane.
No rain during the day yesterday, ended up being a nice evening, and today (so far) it's bright and sunny... BUT there are some black rainclouds about, so I suspect that the sun won't last for long!

Had some heavy rain yesterday afternoon. Cleared up during early evening. This morning is cloudy and the wind has increased markedly in the past half-hour. Rain expected this afternoon. Feels noticeably cooler but this is due to the increased wind speed.
Back to usual weather here... Just plain greyscale
Rain here already and it is set to rain till 11pm tonight so I might be in the lead with the wettest day for Sept so far!:)

Thanks. It's the pool shed, with all the inflatables etc. one side and all the chemicals and pump/filter on the other side.
I actually want to build another shed, but more of a log cabin though, as a HiFi retreat so that I can make as much noise as I want without disturbing anybody. It's just a question of priorities, and this is the lowest one on the list.
As for the weather, slightly cloudy today, but still sunny.....

Heavy rain late yesterday and overcast today. Windy too, earlier, but now calming down somewhat.
Quite warm now and still blue skies... Some late sunbathing going on ....ive got the binoculars out. :lol:

Mild and dull here.
The only spitting going on is from the 'locals' as they walk along the street. I've always said, I can recognise where I am by the amount of gob on the deck!
Well it can't be that bad, I've just survived 2 nights camping at a festival on the Northumberland coast. Warm jacket for the evenings, brolly for the drizzle and warm enough in the tent with a thick fleecy blanket and airmat.
I quite like early Sept weather as it goes.
Had a massive downpour a while ago. Didnt last long but was a lot of water fell... Very humid now
Apart from a very short spell this morning from 8am-10am, where it spitted slightly, it's been a lovely sunny day in Wrexham, with temperatures peaking at 21°C - can't complain :cool:

Drizzle here this morning with low cloud, still air and feeling humid.

Beautiful sunny morning here in Wrexham, and rather warm so far, too! Going to grab the chance to cut the grass and do a few other jobs in the garden before the weather takes a turn for the worse, but it's like summer here at the moment :)

Sun has now shown itself and it's really rather nice here. :)
Stayed dry here and was fairly pleasent for a while although the sun never got out. Starting to dull again now. Air has been decent quality and breathing is fine.

It is supposed to dry up today, but will mainly be overcast. Friday, Saturdayand Sunday are looking good though.

Same here now. It's usually what tends to happen on 'rainy days', with particularly at around tea time, the sun coming out and getting quite warm and staying that way until around 9pm. Very, very rarely, outside of deep winter, do we get a full day of non-stop rain.
Got a few jobs done in the garden yesterday, but still plenty more to do, particularly in preparation for a new double car-port we're having installed in the grounds at the side of the house.

I just used 'creosote' as a convenient term for wood preservative. The actual stuff I've been using is B&Q's version of Cuprinol: has an unpleasant smell when wet, so goodness knows what it does to fungus, algae, mildew etc.
Word has it (amongst certain 'connoisseurs') that it acts a cheeky wee cocktail.... :eyebrows:

Lol - indeed. I enjoy messing around with it, as it provides me with a lot of fun! I keep the car immaculate, inside and out, as I can't stand a dirty car. I like to experience that 'new-car feel' every time I step in. The enhancement detailing will really bring out the lustre of the black metallic paintwork, and provide a 'mirror' finish.
The protection detailing [see here: http://www.clbcarcare.co.uk/protection-detail-162-c.asp] will seal the car from any tendency to rust, and will mean that dirt won't stick to the paintwork, so the car will only ever need gently rinsed with a hose and dried, no more shampooing or waxing!
I'll take some pics when it's done. I'll have the car back late Saturday afternoon :cool:

Surprisingly the paintwork is still pretty good bar a few rusty bits at wheels etc that i try to keep on top of....needing done again actually but difficult getting down that low lol. Stull shines like a new pin when cleaned

I've heard that many times Marco, but I've never seen any marks or micro scratches on my cars. The Suzuki I bought new a couple of years ago shines as it did in the showroom.
Repeated use defo dulls the paint, mate, although you might not notice it for a few years. I certainly wouldn't touch one of those types of car washes with a bargepole. Either I wash the car myself, or it gets a proper hand-wash and chamois/micro-fibre cloth dry, at the local car wash.
There is an excellent one just down the round from us :)

Mixed bag weather wise here today. Morning sun gave way to light showers and then brightened up this afternoon. Washed and polished my car. Haven't used an auto car wash in years. Always wary that they may try to eat the car as 20-odd years ago, the last time I trusted a car wash, part of the front bumper fell off. Ok it was an old Vauxhall that had seen better days, but totally put me off auto car washes. :)
Thing is, there are hand car washes all over the place, and they're cheap (often cheaper and more thorough than auto washes), so why even bother using anything else? :)

Car wash operatives abundant nowadays. Around this area most of them do a ''basic'' wash for a fiver. Dirt cheap really. :)
Very crap start to the day here with mucho precipitation. A day for staying in and twiddling my knobs......on my Croft.

Heavy rain here. It's been lashing it since the early hours. Brighter looking now though. There is the Iron Man event here this weekend, swimming across the bay, then cycling into the Dorset countryside and finally running around the local roads. Many roads are closed around here but it brings people from all over into the town. Let's hope the weather is good for the athletes' efforts. Needless to say I will not be competing this year. :)

Temperatures up to 31C forecast over next few days. Which means we're likely to get 32C or more. The Heathrow area of London always tends get get hottest. It'll be murder. I hate hot weather.

Green bin men eh? I know there is a lot of immigrants down your way but I didn't think they were shleping them in from other planets now.
No green bins up here.... We are all brown. So its the brown bin men.
Well doesn't look like I've done much but the green bin is full, the 'men' will be pleased :D:D (pay extra for this service so always make sure I give them some green refuse to take, it's not always mine)
Ive got 2 brown ones as ive a big garden. They are usually full too, what with 3 lawns and bushes galore, trees, and enough weeds to start a weedery. A giant blue one for recycle and small grey one for trash. We did actually get tiny little ones for food waste but i dont use them. Rarely have any and they just blow away down street emptying their cargo of food bags then gulls come down and rip them open. I try to waste very little and have been a recycler all my days. Surprising what you can do with other folks crap:D
Sun's coming out now and starting to brighten up - much warmer too, than earlier.... :)

It's warm here. In fact even the breeze feels ''warm''. Quite an amount of high cloud as well. :)
Wasnt too bad here.. Rain is still close but hasnt come so far. Was even a tiny bit of blue sky.. Took the opportunity to get the 3 lawns cut... Boy, that was hard work! Sweat was pouring off my...neighbour :lol: I was going to try to do it but his conscience obviously got to him. He was after some paint anyways lol
21 degrees here and quite muggy, heavy cloud all day. Looked like rain but not happened.

Supposedly a nice but windy day today, with a high of 33 degrees.
Tomorrow on the other hand is supposed to be 18 degrees and raining.

27C/81F and rising quickly. I've just been re-pointing some crazy paving, hope the mortar doesn't dry out too quickly. Won't do it any good.
If Youve got a sheet of plastic you can lie it over the area, and it will reflect some heat, and retain a bit of moisture Geoff.

I'll have a look for an old tarp. It's what we used to do years ago when I was in the trade, so to speak.

There's been a crap thunderstorm here. Now that has gone and there is crappy sunshine. Temperature has gone from 19C to an enormously crapita 23C. :)

Blazing sunshine and roasting here! They recorded 32.5C lunchtime at Heathrow just up the road. I don't like it.
That is not even hot yet.
I used to hate working in Seville. It makes the South of France seem quite normal temperature wise.
Edited to add that I have seen temperatures of around 45 degrees C in Seville, which was just too hot to be pleasant.
I simply couldn't function in that type of heat - I'd literally be ill...! If given the choice, I much prefer it cooler than warmer. Around 25°C (low humidity), preferably with a pleasant cool breeze, is ideal for me!
That's why I'm perfectly happy living where I am, where we rarely experience extremes of temperature. I also rather enjoy the winter months here in Wales, snuggling up beside our log fire, when the weather is nasty outside.
It's a cosy/comforting feeling you simply can't replicate when living in a warm country - and I wouldn't thank you for blistering sunshine everyday :)

You get used to it over time. I used to suffer, but now that kind of temperature is ok.
As for winter, the worst I have seen is -17 degrees C. But it tends to be a drier winter here, with very little black ice.

Rarely do we get that sort of temp here, although it happens. The problem in the UK is that the 'infrastructure', for want of a better word, is piss-poor for dealing with any remotely abnormal weather condition.
Jeez - if three wet leaves fall on a railway track here, the trains are cancelled! :doh:

Alpine weather there i guess.. We are firmly in the arctic...well Scotland is close to arctic circle so we get all the wet mushy snow and cold.. Alpine is nice crisp stuff...usually predictable and easier to deal with.
Closer to the Pyrenees than the Alps, but he's, we get a bit of a bad winter at times.
Never much snow here though.
Grant, it'll be the same again this winter (as it was the winter before, and the one before that, etc), where we'll be told that the heavy snow 'caught them out' - the gritters missed the weather forecast, or some other BULLSHIT, for everything grinding to a halt! :rolleyes:

If it snows here, I don't bother driving in to work.
The locals have absolutely no idea how to drive in the snow, so it's far too dangerous to risk it.
-17 is not common here. It usually is just about nudging into the double figures though.
Electrical storm here plus torrential rain. And I mean torrential, the water is bubbling back up through the manholes in the streets. Not seen that here since the 'Holy Rain' incident in '96. Curiously almost exactly 20 years ago. Soaked on the way back from work, have had to completely change.

Probably not far off then.
Another superb, warm and sunny day here in Wrexham, with nary a cloud in sight... Yesterday the temperature peaked at just under 30°C, and today it looks like heading the same way! :)

It's possible that here there may be a really big thunderstorm here, as the surrounding hills cause a micro-climate. This can often realise in the localised conditions being vastly different than just a few miles away. I'm not a fan of humid conditions either. It makes one all hot and sweaty, in the nicest possible way of course.
Got an ice-cold beer, and two large mains-powered oscillating fans blowing cold air at me, as I type, and the curtains drawn, to keep the sun out, as it's the only way here to stay cool! Just been outside for bit and had to come in because of the sweltering heat...
This t'aint natural for the UK in September - and we're supposed to be going out for a curry tonight! :eek:

Very humid and sticky at the moment. Thick gloomy clouds building up and there's been distant thunder for an hour or so. No rain yet.
Sun nearly came out... been warmish..tshirt weather just, but still super humid meaning you sweat just thinking about walking... i was soaked going round tesco... think they have theheating on.... i lingered in the dairy isle for a while, both for the coolness,and a very attractive gal in very tight tights :eyebrows:

No thunderstorms and a big change here with a strong north-westerly wind at first light. Dry but calmer now with overcast skies but reasonably warm. Looking brighter towards the west. After the humidity of the past few days it is refreshing. No more wet, sweaty parts. :)
That's the sun out now, blazing through the window... Looks like it's going to be another scorcher! TBH, I'm getting fed up with the heat. Let's have some snow instead!! :D

Which meant that the traffic from Heathrow to Cambridge today was a nightmare.
Yesterday was a fine sunny day and pleasantly warm, and we went into Liverpool to do some shopping. Bought a little Yamaha sub for my home-cinema system. Today looks like being even warmer - sun currently splitting the skies!
I think the barbecue will be getting lit again later :cool:

Good man. Those gas things are like pissing in the wind. You might as well just cook it in the kitchen on the normal stove. Char-grilled meat is the finest of all the meats :)

What?? The GBBO with no Mel & Sue and now no Mary? The world's gone mad...
Well, it turned out to be a cracker! Spent most of the day at my dad's place having an extended (rather boozy) lunch outside in his pergola. Lovely and warm for the time of year - indeed, so much so, I was dressed in my shorts and t-shirt :)
This is perfect weather for September. We'll see how long it lasts!

Last time I wore shorts was July 1980 - my last day in primary school, where short trousers were compulsory, in winter too. That is unless you count wearing swimming trunks on holiday. Which I don't.
