Clear and bright first thing today. Quite a chill in the air when I let the cats in earlier. Heavy rain on the way, according to the weather forecast, with mild temperatures. :)
Yeah, the temperature is way down on what it was during the earlier heatwave, but still pleasantly warm here. I measured just shy of 20°C yesterday, and today it looks like going the same way.
Fresh, but pleasant. My sort of weather :)

Dry and sunny this morning. Now dark clouds speeding in heralding rain. Wind increasing and feeling decidedly cooler.

Dull, damp and cooler today. It has rained overnight. I reckon that's it for summer. First frosts will be here before too long. Four months of soggy gloom and chill to come. Punctuated by the commercial excercise called Christmas.

Rained overnight and also some of this morning, but the sun's out now and it's reasonably warm - certainly warm enough to wear a t-shirt. We'll see what happens later :)

Very mild indeed here in the North East, went to a charity ceilidh last night and with no heating on in the hall and dancing it was very muggy/humid.
Bit of rain here this morning but it's now coming out fine. Still t-shirt weather. Should we change the title of this thread to say excellent rather than crap?

Rain overnight clearing away to bright and sunny conditions. Just a few clouds now with a fresh south-westerly breeze. Temperature around 16c., so really rather pleasant. :)
Turned out a pretty nice day yesterday, and sunny for most of it :)
Today, so far, it's a different kettle of fish... Grey and drizzly, and set for worse later!

It's been raining on and off here for much of the day. There is a definite autumnal feel to the temperature as well.
Dismal here all day. Not a scrap of sun and that fine rain that soaks you through.

Daughter is in Florida, and sent me a vid of the rain there.. was like a monsoon
They'll just be coming to the end of the hurricane season there.
Just got more pics and video. They were at star wars.. saw chewbacky and a vid of stormtroopers marching about threatening the visitors lol
Been a cold wind all day but stayed dry. Need a jacket and hat now. Long winter ahead...usually 7 months before it gets warm again....anyone want a lodger ;)

was out at car in afternoon and came in jittering. Must be getting old coz It felt too cold for my liking lol. Need to wear a jacket now sadly . probably not as cold as it felt, but wind was cutting
I was freezing last time I was up at yours, mate - the wind-chill factor up there is something else! :eek:
Temp here today peaked at 17°C, so plenty warm for it to be comfortable. Wind was warm, too. I was out in the garden in my shorts - the ones you love! :D

It's been bright and sunny until early afternoon. Now grey clouds with strong breeze, temperature around 17c. :)
Blowing hard still and everything still very wet, though sun is trying to pop out from time to time. Was bucket day, and they are all over the place on their sides.lol
Complete contrast here, mate...
Lovely bright, sunny day, quite warm too, although there's a slight wind-chill reminding you that it's the end of September, not July. Still, I'll be going round later to my dad's for lunch, and sitting outside in my t-shirt and shorts, eating home-made pasta and sipping vino! :cool:

Day the buckets get emptied. most have to put them out to kerb for collection. I get mine done by the guys as I'm disabled and generally buggered

It was 28 degrees here today, and is forecast to be the same tomorrow.

Windy here today, it was blowing the revolving doors at the entrance to work around at a fair speed. Bit disconcerting first thing in the morning. Almost always windy there, though, as it is pretty much up on the moors.

At 18 degrees, the Mrs would be turning the central heating on!

I try to keep house temp at 21.3/21.8c. (Currently 21.7c)Thats a comfortable level for me. Outside its 13c out of wind. Windchill is present today but not too bad. Maybe 2c worth.
Amazing how a few hundred miles makes so much difference at these latitudes

Isn't it just! Quite frankly, I'm shocked at how much difference there is in the average weather/temperature you experience in Bathgate, compared with what I do here in Wrexham, which according to the uninitiated/biased, is supposed to be dull and damp, 'rainy city', when quite patently, evidence proves otherwise...
I prefer the house a little cooler, so indoors, 18/19°C is about right. What I hate is stuffy atmospheres or 'dry heat', especially that often created by central heating or gas/electric fires (the heat generated by coal or wood-burning fires is very different, and more natural), so throughout most of the year, excluding the deep winter, there's always a window open in our lounge, to let some nice fresh air in :)

Lol, i,m cold blooded these days, and like it a tad warmer than when i was younger. I usually have back door open as i have a flyscreen which also reduces the ammount of air blowing in to reasonable levels, plus its situated on east side and prevailing wind is westerly. A window is usually slightly ajar upstairs so you get a fresh circulation of air, unless its perishing of course.

Bright and sunny here today. Wind south-westerly and not cold. Fresh is the word. 16c at the moment. As we are right next to the sea, and surrounded by hills, the temperature is usually 2 or 3c above what can be expected just a few miles inland. Though we are at the mercy of winter gales which are not looked forward to. :)
Just stopped raining so taking opportunity to go to shop. Roads are awash

I also think that the rain waits for me to leave the house or work before starting up. Of course thinking the weather is intentionally picking on you is probably indicative of some form of psychosis but just because you're paranoid doesn't mean the bastards aren't out to get you.

I complained about the severe bad attitude of a particular member of staff at my local Wetherspoons and got barred for life for doing so!! I know of many, many fights which have gone on and resulted in nothing more than the miscreants being told to come back when they have sobered up...

Yes. It's dirt cheap (less than £6 for a chicken breast burger & chips & a pint of Guiness) but you should still expect to get what you order.
I love it that the crappy weather days have returned. :)
After months of hot, sweaty nights that forced me to spend my leasure time outdoors on my terrace, I can finally enjoy my weekend nights again listening to whatever I feel like on my indoor system, in my favourite chair and with my favourite headphones on. I hope we have a long cold wet season. :)

Nothing against any individuals who work there but I avoid the places. They are what the whole world will be like one day if the trend of banal corporate mediocrity continues to advance at its current pace.

Primarily, because they employ useless arseholes with no sense of pride in the job they're doing.
I refuse to eat anywhere where I'm forced to pay in advance, simply because it removes you from being in a position of control, because if I've had shit service or shit food, and I haven't paid yet, I can refuse to do so - but yer fooked if you've paid up front!
For me, quality (of both service and food) comes way before cheapness, so I avoid these 'pile it high and sell it cheap' type chains. Give me a small family-run business, who take great pride in what they do, any day! :exactly:

In Romford there's a great little cafe just off the market place I usually frequent but as I'd got the bus in I fancied washing down my something and chips with a Guiness :cool: Will know better next time!
There aren't any decent restaurants as such in Romford itself, you have to drive out a little (& even then I've often been disappointed).
