I'm a total DIY man across three systems in my home and yes, still married. My DIY gear is very neat and infact I think it part of the art. The only piece of gear I haven't made yet is a CD transport though I have all the parts and a DAC (I'm eying off Altronics latest DAC kit).

I have qualification in electronics and micro-processing and have been in the the industry for over 40 years. Concurrently with that I have been building hifi gear since late teens and now in my mid-sixties still love the hobby. I prefer to build valve gear but also make a fair amount of SS gear and lately seven class D power amps. And of course over the years and lately lots of speakers. More recently very high efficiency speakers to work with flea power tube amps.

Catch you on the flip side.

Hiya Bruce, Nice to have you on board.. ah I see it's Mark.. mind if we call you Bruce? it keeps things easier...

Hope you're a python fan!? :)

As a night owl It won't be the first time I've chatted with antipodeans at this time of the morning :) I'm the resident "you can't be serious that changing the mains flex made a difference" bloke BTW ;)
Keep the space charge heading for the anode and the shiny side up :)

Hi Mark. Welcome to AOS.

DIY is very popular here. Have a look through the Drawing Board section and you'll see many projects. Feel free to add yours too.

Tell us what music you listen to and describe your current system for us. Some photos for The Gallery area would be good.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.
