It always amazing me how vinyl can clean up from what looks like a disaster. I had a similar rock album, and after several soakings it was fine, although I had to sacrifice the labels.

I have a pretty strict regimen for record remediation especially when mold and mildew are involved. It is not very much fun; however I agree, the results are often delightful.

This was 1 of about 100 (and the worst of them). When I was approached and originally saw the condition I was going to pass. However, holding my nose and flipping through revealed an unusually nice collection of jazz, rock and some rare r&b. Rarely do I keep everything from a salvage haul. This time, I'm keeping everything... ...cleaning everything. Sadly, only about 10 covers will make it.

I read in Ronnie Wood's autobiography that Keith Richards had no time for Jeff Beck, and after Keith once stuck a gun in Jeff's face Ronnie asked him what he had against Jeff. His reply was "He does drugs wrong".

Dunno about that, but last time I looked Jeff Beck looked quite normal, while Keef looked like, well Keef.

Saw Curved Air approx. 15 months ago at one of those weekend music things ( Butlins :D)

BIG disappointment buggered off after 20 mins to one of the other stages, I was gutted they were that pretentious and that bad and on a pervey ( which shouldn't count) level she obviously has had a few too many pies.....

Deep Purple & the Light Music Society - Gemini Suite.

This was performed at the Royal Festival Hall Sept 17th, 1970 & was broadcast by the BBC.. Utter top notch performance, Conducted by Malcolm Arnold who also conducted the Albert Hall 'Music for Group & Orchestra' performance & Jon Lords own 'Gemini Suite' solo album.. This Purps performance is great but i do miss Yvonne Elliman on vocals.. This is clearly the best ever period for the band bordering on the edge of Prog. Taking a component member from this band at the time would have been like removing one of the Beatles members.. I would have given my back teeth to have seen them back then..

Deep Purple - Live at Montreux Casio, Switzerland.. Recorded 4th October, 1969. Great recording for the time. Still a feeling of the Mk.1 sound but obviously no Evans & Simper any longer. Ex Episode Six members: Gillan & Glover would not have been in the band that long, maybe 3 months, Mk1 was over after the USA tour first half of '69..

Junior's Eyes - Battersea Power Station.. Da man Mick Wayne was the guitarist on David Bowie's 2nd self title LP later re-named 'Space Oddity'.. Moody Blues fans should alser know this band as John Lodge was the Bass player. Rick Wakeman who used to get where water could not in those days was also a early member who played on the debut 7", Rick also played on the Bowie Fuzzy.

Started the day a bit old folks-y, with Tony Bennett/kd Lang "A Wonderful World". Then "Beast of Carpenters". Just to ease Mrs. P into the day. Now onto Goldfrapp's "Felt Mountain". Let's see how far I get with that one :)

Reminded me to put on a Beatles album again later today, I checked yesterday to see how many of their official studio and film albums I didn't have, I thought it was only 2, turns out I am short of 6, Please PleaseMe, Meet the Beatles, Beatles for Sale, Help!, Yellow Submarine and Let It Be. I will have to start treating myself to one a month, any opinions on the 180gm re-releases, I have Magical Mystery on 180gm and it seems pretty good to me.

There is something really groovy about this album, I've always had a soft spot for it. This 180gm re-release is very good.

I have Magical Mystery Tour, Rubber Soul, White Album and Abbey Road all 180g, all sound good to my ears. Don't care for my 180g Let It Be though. My copies of Please Please Me, With The Beatles, Beatles For Sale, Hard Days Night and Help! are all early mono releases.

My Sgt Peppers and Revolver are CDs which don't count. So I think it's just them and Yellow Submarine.

None of them get much play as Mrs. P hates The Beatles with a passion  How can you hate "Twist and Shout" AND "Come Together"? Beatles songs are so varied, there's something for everyone. I think she just says it to wind me up :(

Adrian seems to like this a lot and why not its a good album.
I've had both of the origionals on Beacon since the day. The local "Rock" disco used to play the 45 of "Evil" a lot and that's on the shelf annal
I've had the repertoire since it was put out and I'm enjoying the listen BUT I still think who ever was responsible for recording this album ( and the 2nd)should have had an appointment with the ruff end of a pineapple.
Instruments / voice go up and down in the mix for no reason ( I've got a fader and Im gonna use it :D) and it still sounds like it was recorded in a dustbin in the next street over from the Studio.
A good album full of memories but I always feel it could have been a great album.

I had completely forgotten about this album until someone else posted it on here recently, So I could not resist and found a reasonably priced one on Discogs. It arrived this afternoon and is in NM condition as advertised. It is just as I remember, quirky and great fun especially "Raymond's Road" and "Light Cavalry" both on side 2.

If you are into Prog Rock with swirling organs then this should probably be in your collection.
