There was a huge thunderstorm here yesterday , the building I work in shook as a lightening bolt struck close by ?

I went outside to the upstairs transport office and this is what I saw ...
It was very close .

After about 10 minutes from this photo , the building ,a cricket pavilion was just a smouldering shell .

Holey Moley. Looks like a shell hit it. We had some pretty violent thunder and lightening last night, right overhead at one point it made the double glazing rattle. Then hailstones the size of marbles. Typical British Spring weather.

It was incredible , like an earthquake ? Not that I've ever experienced one but pretty scary .

The power of nature .

As far as I know ,no one was in the Pavilion at the time , in a few weeks it may have been very different ?

We had a close strike some years ago, I'm guessing about half a kilometer. The earth potential must have lifted considerably.

It trashed the computer, modem, cordless phone, electric toilet and mains powered video camera.

It also blew the bell push off the metal gate post at the top of the drive  Needless to say the bell transformer was well knackered.

You load of jokers

It was a macerating toilet Martin, so it had connection with the mains and the water supply (earth potential), so a few too many kilovolts did the control board in.
