Ive pre ordered the 3LP version of the debut LP & 2LP versions of Vol.II & Vol.III

T'will be nice to have III with the original die-cut holes and 'wheel' out there again. I suspect the vinyl will be cut well too using good vinyl and probably from the digital masters, or analogues tweaked from the digital transfers :)

For me, II never sounded as good on vinyl as the CD transfers, any of them. Too much bass distortion - and I have an original cut as well as a mid 70's CBS UK pressing.

£12.99 for Led Zep 1 on vinyl doesn't seem so bad...pretty good really. The full set is pricey though.

Plumb Atlantics cost a fortune. I picked up my early green/Orange Atlantics for about £25.00 each..tbh i dont think im going bother with these new issues.

Decided not to buy them in fact i will never buy another re-issue i personally had a gut full of them.

The thing is i have hundreds of them i need to get rid off. Problem however is everything i dont like about them Hi-fi nutters will obviously not be happy either, i do everything to avoid comeback from buyers so its pretty much off load them to a dealer cheap or box them away.

Plumbs are too expensive imho. I have Plumbs of the early YES LP's but also have the same as very early Orange/Green Atlantic, i cannot hear a difference tbh.. I think it's just a matter of some people have to have the genuine article.. Im well happy with 70's pressings. But 80's pressing absolutly not.

Out of interest, were the Quiex versions from the masters?

That would also be interesting as I have seen copies of this album bandied around from £80-150, again, what a complete shame if it was mastered from digital and a kick in the face for the poor buggers that bought it full price in the 1st place. :steam:

I get fed up with it.. Yesterday Ive boxed up Hundreds of new Re-issue LP's ready to go to a dealer that will obviously sell them on, just waiting on the courior.. Good riddence.

I spoke to a cutting room recently about a program we are developing. The head honcho there told me they had a tape machine, but it was not set up, as the majority of the stuff they do for re-issues is cut from CD and that that signal is DAC'ed then sent through a digital delay for the vari-pitch, so why bother? :scratch:

O were back to that old Chestnut.. From tape of CD the fact is it's a record & records are fun to use.

Err. Make up your mind Andre..... Reminds me of the quote from Derek Taylor the Beatles publicist. He moved on to be head of WEA/Kinney in the UK. When they put out the George Melly album, NUTS he wrote on the sleeve notes "I may be schizophrenic but my minds are made up, this is a good album, buy it"! :lol:

I'm giving them a go.
The only one I have a decent reference for is II, as I have a plum label copy, but I await these turning up.
The additional LPs look to be worth having too, and the concert from 1969 from between the releases of I and II could be right interesting.
