best sound out of a laptop ?

HI everyone ,I am new comer to this forum ,reason came to you, to get informed, how able to get best quality sound' playing out of a laptop ,scrolling the web forums' I found people praise xnoise media player as best for sound ,which is available also to Ubuntu users ,while other praise jplay which needs windows', as the best ,anyone had a chance to compare each other ?:)

To get the best out of Jplay you need a 2pc set up
I think either will give you good sound for the money
