I've decided I'll be keeping the standard tonearm on my soon to be delivered 1210. The deck is fitted with the Mike New Bearing and a Tempest PSU.
I want to upgrade the wiring in the tonearm, I was considering carrying out this re-wire myself but have found a fair few issues on the net from people who have attempted it, so I may have it done professionally, any recommendations as to who I should send it to? What else can be done to improve it?

Send it to J7 at Audio-origami he's done my SME V and Michell technoarm. You should be able to specify uprated copper wiring and maybe even get the RCA's with something nice like Eichmann copper bullets. KAB do a dampening module that you can install yourself, the headshell can be replaced but you will need to experiment with that. Otherwise some lube around the VTA adjuster is always useful. Hope this helps. :)

Yes I've read about the KAB module but think I've decided against this. I'm sure I read somewhere about packing out the tonearm with some sort of material - anybody done this? Recommended?

Thank you for the advice though Andrew :)

I rewired my stock arm when i got mine, but it was the first time for me,trying anything like this before and ran into a few problems along the way!!
I got there in the end,but if you asked me,would I do it again? I'd think more than twice!!

At the time,it was a financial issue for me,otherwise I would have sent it to johnny!!
