Received my new stylus for the Garrott P77 from ESC today - apparently they made them in the first place.
Mounted in the Jelco on the Technics at 1.7g tracking is very good (band 3 of HfN) test disc - needs 2.5 bias setting.
Wow! Where did that bass come from? way more than the Decca (or anything else I had in there) - controlled and precise. This does not overpower the presentation in any way - highs are crisp and clear - overall presentation is perhaps described as "sweet" - not warm but not thin either - bit like the bears porridge - just right  There's a lovely "bloom" to strummed acoustic guitar on Bert Jansch's Black Swan, you get much more of a feel and involvement with the instruments than with the Decca - not necessarily better - just different in a pleasant way
Loads of fine background detail to boot.
Certainly seems to suit the MM stage in the Croft.
Early days and lots of listening to do - not this weekend though - number 1 daughter getting married :champagne:
These are very difficult to come by but with a brand new (original) stylus from ESC only £61 it's well worth hunting around for one if MM's are your cup of meat;)
