Today is the national day of mourning in Belgium as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of 22 of their young. I saw the minute's silence on the Belgian news channel, VRT Nieuws, and it has really upset me.
I just cannot even begin to understand the absolute devastation their parents, friends and families must be going through right now - for it's not just the lives that are wasted, but it's the absolute devastation of those that remain who, somehow, have to find the strength to carry on.
I have a deep religious faith that I don't express very often, but I pray to God that He will give them that strength and comfort that they so badly need right now.
