You could say the same about my 56" Martin, the 120" screen on the wall hardly gets noticed though with the PJ off :eyebrows: I definately agree about the kit though. That sub driver looks pretty large? :stalks: Pretty sure it's only a 12" or 15" but for some reason it looks bigger :scratch:

My place isn't big enough to put the TV anywhere else, and for AV purposes it's a very good picture. Only 720P though, but apart from Blu-ray all my other HD source are 720P.

The ASW850 subwoofer has a 15" driver. I know it's overkill in such a small narrow room but I wouldn't be without it! Actually I am currently as the sub has recently failed and I'm waiting to get it repaired.

The grandfather clock is an 1840s William Dobbie (of Linlithgow, Scotland) if anyone is interested. Clocks and timepieces are one of my other interests.

I'm just glad no-one mentioned the wallpaper! :lol: It was like that when I moved in and I have no interest in changing it. Once I buy my own place in a year or so I will take more pride in its appearance.

Nonsense, it's not overkill at all ;) Yes you may have more bass that you could ever handle at full volume, however, because the sub won't be working hard it'll be distorting less that it would nearer full excursion :cool:

You think that's overkill, I'll be using 4 x 15 when I get my new speakers built next year :eyebrows:

Yes I bought a replacement bulb about two years ago but I still have the original bulb as well (which lasted at least three years). Can get away with changing the fuse in the bulb unit to make the TV think an old bulb is new so the old one can be re-used when I need it. I work with someone who has the same telly and when his bulb reported it had expired he just replaced the fuse. That TV is still running on the same bulb.

Mark - all of our projectors have a lamp life reset routine - sometimes in the menu and sometimes a matter of powering up with a button held down. Watch out for the bulb darkening as it goes well past its life expectancy, though. There comes a time when you have to replace it and then the new bulb looks fantastically bright!

I don't think I'll need to worry about it in all honesty Martin, the PJ will be replaced way before the bulb is unless it blows unexpectedly. I have only put about 450 hours on it in 3 years :D

Note to self:- over xmas watch every episode of Lost on Blu Ray, followed by Fringe & anything else with a 1.85:1 aspect ratio :eyebrows:
