    Default Music movies

I was wondering of anyone else enjoys watching movies based for example on a band, or a musical theme. I am not talking about the sound of music, but I do enjoy the odd one such as Tenacious D in 'The pick of destiny' or 'Tommy' or even 'the Rocky horror picture show'

    Anyone else enjoy similar?

    Tenacious D some time ago...

Quadrophenia - love, love, love that film. Sure there are more, other than the obvious rockumentaries but that one is my fave.

Quadrophenia gets my vote too. Seeing at on C4 as a pissed off 16 year old, lets say I could identify with the lead character. Bloody excellent film.

There are plenty that I like, but the one that this thread has made me think of, and realise I've got to get a copy of, is this one..............

    Leningrad Cowboys Go America
A mad, mad, mad but brilliant film.

The infuriating thing is that this film is it is only available on video cassette, not DVD.

If you liked 'Leningrad Cowboys Go America', you might just like the sequel: 'Leningrad Cowboys Meet Moses'. Even quirkier, but that one is available on DVD.

Just about everything Aki Kaurismaki directs is wierd and ideosyncratic and, at times, downright depressing. I blame the short daylight hours they can have in Finland.

    Barry
