    Default First post 'Hello'

    Hi to everyone,

My name is Roy and I'm from Lancashire.

    My System is:

JS Audio Modded A308 CD player (amazing detail and soundstage)
JS Audio Modded KW550 integrated (effortless)
B&W 804s Speakers in Cherry (good allrounders)
AudiaZ interconnect (truly revealing in the most wonderful way)
Ecoflex 10 as Speaker cable (looks good and sounds GREAT!!!)

Currently looking to change my speakers, thinking along the lines of Audio Physic so any comments will be gladly welcomed.

    Thanks

    Roy.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks and I'll get some pics up when I've had the vac and duster out.

I like all kinds of music from heavy rock to classical guitar but mainly 70's, 80's and 90's.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Hi Roy and a warm welcome to AOS from me.
I've owned and auditioned a few models from Audio Physic, old Virgos included.
In my experience, while they possess an enviable combination of talents, I did find them a little too clinical for my taste (especially with the "wrong" equipment) and too fussy about positioning - they need a lot of room to breathe and need to stay well clear of walls.
That being said, if space is not an issue and with the right equipment, they can really, really sing. Do give them a listen, if you can, and see how they work for you. Otherwise, at that price bracket, there are a lot of really good speakers out there.
    Enjoy your stay!

I also tried a pair of Virgos. Very dynamic with DEEP bass but the sideways firing drivers were way too near to side walls so I had to move them on. I thought the build quality was excellent. Definitely with an audition if you have the space!

    Thanks Julian,

I may have a similar problem myself where each speaker will be close to a chair on their outer edges instead of a wall. I may have to have a look at another brand. it all adds to the fun anyway.

    Thanks again for the input.

    Roy.

Roy - you'd be much better off buying my beautiful Chario Academy II's!
