Yup, its all good here as I have said myself on more than one occasion. I recently popped over to another forum, as I actually had something of value to offer and wanted to help out, as their knowledge regarding file based audio is not what it is here. Got sniped at almost immediately by some nay sayers, so I checked out. I don't have time to help people if all they are going to do is try and pull you to pieces, shame really as I would have liked to have put something in.

Having said that its good to venture out, as it re-confirms that AoS is a little different.

I like it here; I came as a noob to all things audio and pretty much everything I know now is throught his forum as people have taken the time to actually explain things.

Thanks for the praise, Lenny. It's nice to hear but don't fear that we'll ever become complacent. I too have experiences of some other forums (related to work and cars) and there is none quite like AoS. Long may it continue.

I couldn't agree more. But never mind me.

What about this for a ringing endorsement for AoS. My son (18) who is embarking on a hifi related business venture joined AoS and he's chuffed to bits with how he's been welcomed. The positive comments have given him a massive boost and suggestions made have been taken on board. He was very sceptical of forums but his experience of this one has almost turned him.

I say almost because unfortunately he's had a frosty welcome on another forum. I say frosty but downright pig ignorant would be more accurate.

When he makes his first million he'll treat us all to pork pies and foaming ale.

AoS is great. Nutters, eccentrics, weirdos and oddballs but all nice fellas. Thank you all.

Another thing, I feel perfectly at ease buying gear from other members here. Even when I was a complete and utter noob, and could so easily have been taken advantage of, the welcoming embrace into the "AoS family" was reassuring.

I can only liken AoS to the old 'Snug' in the Rover's Return... a place for we chaps (and lasses) to chat at the end of the day, wind down, perhaps wind each other up a little, and go to sleep satisfied that the world isn't completely hostile.
