What Makes a Classic?
Ignore if this has been discussed in the past. LS3/5a, 301/401, TD-124, ESL 57, ... We all know these letter - number configurations (the "sickness"). Why? Are they more accurate? More euphonic? Do they do one thing or many things well? What makes them desirable and possessing of that most elusive of qualities (like good wine) - memorability? And what of today belongs to tomorrow?
