I put tomato puree, white pepper, knob of butter, and a really tiny pinch of sugar and salt in mine. Comes out great!

I love beans on toast, ultra comforting but sadly I can't eat them anymore as they wreak havoc on my innards ( not wind but really bad cramping ). I don't think it's the beans themselves I think it's something in the sauce. I've tried loads of different brands but not much better and they just don't taste like Heinze.

Homemade Chinese tonight. Broccoli and beef in oyster sauce. Yum. Quite fancy making up some spring rolls too.

Eating out tonight at the local (a 3 minute ‘walk’ from the flat.

The Mistley Thorn is a great little eatery and dog friendly too (so Archie can come with us).

Thursday night is Moules Madness so I may well partake

I love Moules but aren't they now out of season ?

I haven't been able to buy any from Tesco, Waitrose or the fishmonger in the market and all three said they were 'out of season'.

Coincidentally, I just had a tray of mussels from Tesco for lunch. Just bread and butter and some mayonaise 'n pepper with it. Lovely!

Not sure, as some areas serve all year round. The peak season is October til March.

They are local mussels but I didnt ask if they came out of the chiller or not. Place was busy as usual with a lot of mussels being consumed.

All I can say is, they tasted good and I haven’t been talking to God on the big white telephone this morning!
