Steak and chips - rump from Morrisons was disappointing (no depth of flavour and it was meant to be aged), first attempt at home made oven chips ok, little bit of Feta (from bury market stall) on the tomatoes with Greek oregano from garden lovely.
Wine from Morrisons, excellent - and 25% off 6 bottles offer.

I find most supermarket meat to be a bit of a disappointment. Tesco's is IMO particularly poor. Morrison usually is well regarded as far as meat is concerned though.

Morrison’s beef is a bit hit or miss we have found, but the Rioja is decent for the price, Morrison’s do have some decent wines

Yeah I know what you mean... Still looks half-decent, though. You might've enjoyed it more sliced thinly inside a baguette, as a steak sandwich with some English mustard

Rioja looks quite good. How much was it?

We don't often shop in Morrisons (generally preferring Sainsbury's and Lidl or Aldi), but in the past have found anything in their 'The Best' range to be pretty good. When we do go though, and if buying steak, we'll get it from the butcher section (freshly sliced from a whole piece), as that's generally better than any of the pre-packed stuff.

Looks good, like the sort of thing you'd see in France as part of a cold buffet in a truck driver's cafe, and definitely something I'd eat!

As for pics, doesn't Happy have a smartphone? If so, you could've taken pics with that. No-one needs a dedicated camera these days to take pics

Funny you should ask, I bought her a new one only yesterday, to replace her old one of 8 years. Even so, I'm not sure how to download pictures onto her laptop, as it doesn't have an image store (is there one for Google Chrome?).

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
