    I love baked sausages.

Just had a fish-cake and chips in Cardiff on the way back from the movies, couldn't be arsed to cook.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Yup. But skip the onions. Don't like 'em.

The Shape of Water for the second time, I often see good films more than once. I also really took in Sally Hawkins' performance, outstanding acting, she owned that part. Before seeing it, I would have said the best female actor Oscar was a done deal with Frances McDormand (Three Billboards), but I wouldn't want to bet on either now, definitely a two horse race IMO.

I hope it's Frances McDormand, but they both deserve something.

Did you ever see Maudie Marco? Seemed to have slipped under the radar last year, but another outstanding performance from Sally H. True story too, with good music and a connection to Cowboy Junkies as they used her artwork and there's some CJ music in there too. I think it'd be right up your street, Del too.
