By coincidence I have just received a mixed case which includes a couple of bottles of:
2004 Château Villars, Fronsac
69% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Château bottled
Aroma: Minerals, liquorice, black fruits and toasty oak
Taste: Rich full-bodied, ripe and smooth with lush fruits and firm tannins.
Château bottled 13% ABV Drink by end 2019 £17 a bottle.

I always prefer a wine that has had a glass out of it the next day.. Bourbon is similar. seems to react with the air well.. especially bourbon actually.

2012 Les Sources du Chateau de la Riviere, Fronsac
Here’s some blurb:
The large, 65 hectare vineyard of Chateau de La Riviere is planted to
82% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% old vine Malbec,
in 53 separate parcels on clay, limestone and sandy soils.
This shows a marked increase in the plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards have old vines, some of which are up to 80 years old. Chateau la de Riviere takes a serious environmental approach to their vineyard management techniques. In 2012, they became one of the first Bordeaux chateaux to earn certification for high, environmental value. The red wine of Chateau de la Riviere is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats and aged in 30% new French oak for between 12 to 18 months, depending on the character and style of the vintage.

I notice this wine is a gold medal winner at the Concours des Féminalise, Beaune 2013. What's that all about? Allowing women to drink wine! - Good Lord they will be wanting the vote next and the right to play cricket.

Nice one, on the purchase of the Fronsac, old boy. I'm trying to slowly wean you off of your love affair with Laithwaites, broaden your vino horizons, and teach you about the merits of Slurp-per-Pound value!!
