I'm becoming rather partial to this wine - it almost replaces the 2007 Chateau Le Boscq in my affection.
As you know, I'm rather a Rioja fanatic but tomorrow is my wedding anniversary and to treat the rather mad woman who married me I will be getting fillet steak with all the trimmings, the butchers is a stone's throw from the Co-Op, so I will try and seek that one out. Thanks Barry!

Good stuff, mate. A rather fine and renowned producer! I'm also a fan of Ventoux. That one should've been a nice example

Did you get to Lidl to pick up that Barolo and Squinzano I recommended?

Happy Anniversary for tomorrow, Alex. Hope you guys have a nice time!

The Médoc will go very well with the steak and should be as full-bodied as a good Rioja.

No worries, dude. Here ya go... Barolo DOCG:

    https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/wines/barolo-docg/p12047

    Squinzano Rosso Riserva, from Puglia:

    https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/red-wine...riserva/p30851

If your store has the same layout as ours, the Barolo, for some strange reason, will be located in the first main section of wine (where all the 'cheapy' stuff usually is), and the Squinzano will be in the 'posh section' inside the wooden crates nearest the checkouts.

I'll give you another couple of reccos too, which are very good indeed.... This is a really nice Côtes du Rhône (also should be located in the 'posh section'):

    https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/red-wine...o-rhone/p30850

As is this Sicilian red (gorgeously smooth and full-bodied), again should be located in the 'posh section':

    https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/red-wine...passite/p30854

    Are you going today?

Has anyone else tried this :

I do like apple flavoured drinks, i don't particularly like JD but i thought i'd give it a go, in my opinion it's at best OK, I really wish i'd gone with the bottle of single malt i was looking at before i spotted this though
