I could tell you a very nasty true story, that we witnessed in Bali about 25 years ago. But it might put you all off snakes.

They may not be the most affectionate of pets, but at least snakes can be interesting.

A few years ago we adopted a couple of terrapins from someone who was threatening to flush the buggers. Turned out to be strong contenders for the WORLD'S MOST POINTLESS PETS award. They were pretty much identical so there was no point giving them names. So they were both called Ronnie. The two Ronnies. The only way they would acknowledge our existence was in trying to bite anything that came close to them, ungrateful little bastards.

After two years of zero interaction, punctuated by a fortnightly tank clean (they could shit for England) and seeing them grow from biscuit-size to Hollands steak pie-size we finally called it a day and donated them to a turtle sanctuary, or Chinese restaurant or something. It was either that or "shell" out for a bigger tank. And that's just throwing good money after bad
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.
