Yeah that PG looks decent. A good alternative to Pinot Grigio is Vermentino, which is more golden in colour, richer and fruitier, but not drier. Still nice and crisp though, and ideal chilled for summer glugging!

Ignore the fact that it's French!Seriously though, both countries can handle each other's grape varieties with considerable aplomb. Pinot Grigio is the same as Pinot Gris.
There are loads of interesting Italian white grape varieties, which have lots to offer over the 'usual suspects'. Trebbiano and Vernaccia are two others.

What's the alcohol content - something like 13.5% (typical Shiraz)? It *could* still be ok, given the higher alcohol content, as opposed to the 11-12.5% of other table wines. but it's needs drinking now or using in cooking!
