But that's not in the spirit of the thread, dear boy. Others manage to take pics, including me, and therefore so should you

It's rather like writing a list of your system components, in the Gallery section, instead of taking photos. Which do you think is more interesting for members to look at? I trust you can see my point.....

No, I love pies (but being diabetic, I can't eat too many of them), it was just the anaemic look of the pastry covered with the sauce that put me off.

I'm sure it all tasted delicious, but I didn't think it looked appetising. Sorry.

Fair comment. The flaky pie crust was nicely golden as I'd egg washed it but when I turned them out I just left them that way up, it was all very tasty.

Should we have a vote on whether or not pics on this thread should be mandatory?

Personally, I don't see any point on a food thread without pictures, as words are boring and don't portray how nice (or otherwise) the food discussed actually looked. I mean, even on the 'Spinning Today' thread in the music room, most folks take the trouble to post pics of the albums they've been listening to, rather than just typing out the title.

So why shouldn't the resident lazy-arses here be made to do the same, when it comes to the nosh they're eating!

Pics are good but imo not always essential. Nice just to hear what folk eat. Sometimes no pics are a positive advantage lol.

Ps I loved the homer pic.. Great

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
