Yes, I do know what you mean.
But once past the tediously thumping 1st movement it gets a fair bit more interesting. Not sure I'd wheel it out more than once every year or two.
The best thing about the recording, though, is the conductor Andrey Boreyko - he has done some superb Shostakovich symphony recordings! No. 4 is a bit of a revelation and no. 6 is possibly the best I have heard. A bit wasted on Gorecki, really.
