Edradour do 2 non peated standards.. the 10 and the 12. the 12(Dougie Mclean) is slightly more of everything but is a fair bit more cost; also its not as nice a bottle lol.
I prefer the younger 10.. plenty of flavour in it; its also a fair bit different to normal whiskies as it uses those really small(almost illegal portable stills). they are the smallest legally allowed as far as i know. Signatory own it and also bottle under that name. they do a lot of decanter bottlings and are very good.

Another sherried one.. I do like this solera 15 from glenfiddich.
Sweetish but not too much, sherry and a little orange. A nice controlled finish too. No water really needed here.

Just ordered another bottle from glenfiddich'own shop as they have a good price£42 and free delivery too.

    Marco,
look below! I promise you will find this easier than I did and most likely pay less for it.
I put my money where my mouth is, on the Edradour 10.

    Grant,
What Wolfeburn would would you get?
    I almost got the Arora.
I'll bet it's far cheaper in Scotland.
I got a nice Bourbon decanter that matches my Rocks glasses now too.

I've not yet tried northland but have a couple of miniatures to try. Not a bad price over there. It has a little smoke I'm told but not much.
The Aurora is good. I like it. Normal price here is £49 but can be had for £39. I've a couple of bottles in my stock coz I like it.
The 15 solera I had again tonight is very good. It's £42 upwards here. If you get it at anywhere near that then try it

I'll keep my eye on it, they may drop prices around Christmas.
The Edradour 10 is amazing better than I remember, I saw it above the bar and ordered a double.
I think the color is natural, some oak in this maybe deeper char and small casks, the cherry is maraschino, nutty ,figs and a little pumpkin and tanic flavor like tea in the back. slightly bitter sweet.
This drinks much older than even most 12 year olds.
A drop of water really brings out the best it has to offer.

not overly complex but its extremely nice. balance and pleasure is 75% of a good whisky for me. Coming out of their solera vat, its usually very close to profile every time. The vat is never below half full. Its a single malt tho, just that they marry the casks in a vat for consistency. The 18 is done this way too I think. ive a bottle of it stashed, although its on offer at their shop at moment for £66.. I was tempted the 18 is superb

    Thanks Grant,

Having just finished the last of Redbreast, John’s Lane and Tomatin CS with whiskey loving friends and family, the drinks trolley is empty

This will be a nice treat to replenish, I love to have a single dram while I’m cooking.

    Cheers!

    Hi Grant,

I just looked up the Edradour site and they do a 10 year old straight from the cask (not filtered and 46%), have you compared this to the filtered 40% version (it costs about £10 per bottle more) - I wondered what you think of the two in comparison with each other.

    Cheers.
