we got glass bottles too. not sure the size but it was more often or not sour in summer and frozen in winter. think school milk gave me an aversion to drinking it

My dad was the manager of the Coop dairy bottling plant in Brighton in the 60's,70's and 80's. Throughout all those years three times a week all the left over milk and cream etc was poured into churns and taken to the local piggery. Even as a kid I remember that distinct " perfume " on piggy days.
