not had the chance yet as I’ve been away for the weekend. Managed to drive for 90 mins, so that’s a minor victory. Trying to see the Doc again tomorrow to get some new painkillers or treatment. Failing that, I’ll open the Tomatin.

Teeling are one of a number of new distilleries which have opened in Ireland in the last few years. Although pretty much most of their current whiskeys come from barrels distilled at coolies.
They must have a pretty interesting stock as they are releasing some interesting and age statement whiskeys.

I have a bottle of this

Which is their first release from their new distillery.

I wouldn't rush to buy a bottle it's a young whiskey. I think only just over the 3 years.

But it is the first whiskey to be distilled in Dublin for something like 50 years.

I'd say there are a lot of the batch 1 bottles which haven't and won't be opened.

Will leave it to you guys to assess this one as I’m a newbie to this game and this is my first CS (as far as I can remember).

Definitely getting the Ginger Biscuit and Malt Loaf on the nose though.

I’m too chicken to try this without at least a teaspoon of water to tame the fire of youth and strength but it’s still surprisingly smooth and I suspect the water really opens things up.

A lovely, spicy alternative to the Irish I’ve been drinking lately.

    Tomatin Cask Strength 57.5%

    my online review..

bourbon vanilla creamy mouthfeel leads to spices and a nice finish. plenty going on in this after a small amount of water to open it. smooth and yet rich too.. plenty sherry on the nose and its helping this along without overpowering it.
Im a big fan of Tomatin and this does not disappoint.. Fabulous dram!!!

not that young as wood presence is there.. maybe 7 yrs overall but there are older ones in there

    worth investing in
