    Another new opening..
    Aultmore 12 Yr old.

Rare to get bottles from this distillery up in Keith. One of Dewars blend whiskies this, and quite interesting.

Nose is slightly sweet and fruity like a desert wine initially, as is taste. Then it dries quickly and honey and vanilla appear. Oak takes over a bit with spices and a long fine finish.
After a few sips and some air, herby banana and a silky mouthfeel is also there.
Rather nice, delicate drink. Quite like it.

interestingly a dribble of water and you lose the early sweetness

Lol - no worries, mate. It's your passion, and good to see

Yeah, that one was top notch. I've had the ordinary Baron de Ley, but not the Reserva, which is a different level and highly recommended!

I know, among other reds, but I'm fed up taking the time to post reccos here for you (from Lidl and Aldi), with zero acknowledgement!

So should I bother again or just give up?

Anytime I visit Lidl or Aldi, I struggle to find any of your recommendations plus currently we are doing most of our shopping in Tesco, M&S and Morrisons.

Jeez. the branches up there must be right shite!

Not to worry. M&S and Morrisons we're rarely in, Tesco occasionally, so I'll bear that in mind if I find any gems in those places
