This is a really LURVELY slurp, for £8, from M&S: https://www.marksandspencer.com/jour...-6/p/p60028732

Gorgeous blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc, from a renowned maker in the Stellenbosch, combine to produce young (being a 2018 vintage), fresh, ripe and vibrant berry fruit flavours, and due to the warm South African climate, it has a smooth and silky finish, with little acidic sharpness. A very glugable red wine indeed, and highly recommended!
Haven't had that particular one, but we just drank a bottle of Stellenbosch from Aldi - very good. Came in a box at Christmas. A few slurps left to go with another meal.

She very kindly went to two shops but neither had any in stock - bought home a rather ropey Cab Sauv / Merlot blend!

Shame, but I'm sure that what she chose was nice. Keep an eye out for the one I recommended though, as it's a stonker!

Good stuff, Dave. South Africa wines can be very good indeed, if you can find a good producer

    Tamnavulin sherry cask. 40vol.
Started in bourbon casks then into 3 different sherry types.

    Nose is delightfully fruity

Rich palate and big finish. Lots of dried fruits and vanilla.. Spices as well.
Very nice, if a tad young it's holding up well.
Not the smoothest but to be expected.
Good tho and a litre bottle
Lots of sherry coming through now as it warms
