Marco.damn shame as it was a very busy town once. the biggest and best shops in county, but all gone now. Pubs, carry outs and charity shops is about it. A decent butchers and a couple of other shops but considering the town is 20k its not much.
when my dad was alive there was a coop in every street; sometimes 2 or 3.

One of my all-time favorites this at a lower price. Typical Campbeltown whisky.. superb depth, with richness and a whisp of smoke, but on the tongue only. pricewise if you get it around £32 it is the best buy in whisky for me...

A small update...
Just opened this for lunch, and it's everything that it's claimed to be!And lastly, I really don't know how they do this (and admittedly I haven't tried it yet, review to follow), a Haut-Médoc, for wait for it... £6.99!!!https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/the-french-...laurent/p44211
Not just a standard Médoc, but a HAUT-Médoc! If it's any good, you'd normally expect to pay around £20 a bottle for such, or much more. Plus it's also won a gold medal in an international wine challenge in 2020! Seems too good to be true, so I'll feedback on it later!
Don't expect it to rival Haut-Médocs at £30 a bottle (or more), which have much more finesse and depth, but it has a goodly dose of the jammy-fruit flavours of a quality claret, with some of the associated 'barrel-wood' infused overtones - and really just a dammed good and highly enjoyable slurp, for a silly-cheap price of £6.99...!
You could spend £15/16 on a bottle of claret and not get one as good as this - seriously - so snap it up while you can

Clarets (no matter the vintage) always benefit from some decanting, simply to aerate the wine, so my advice would be to do that (uncork it and decant) just before serving, instead of uncorking the wine an hour or so before consuming it, to let it 'breathe', as that'll be more effective and help retain all the fruit flavours.
Do you have a wine decanter or something you can transfer the wine into? It need only be another clean empty wine bottle, or something similar. It'll make all the difference to your enjoyment of the wine

Nice one. The only other thing I'd say is try and finish it between you in one go, as once opened, it's not a wine for keeping for any amount of time. If you do leave some, make sure it's polished off the following day at the latest.
