Here we go. An ideal candidate for the thread. Diane Abbott reinforcing her position as a useless waste of space.

They really should find her a job better suited to her skills. Serving in a chip shop maybe? Stacking warehouse shelves? Or would those be a touch too demanding?

Yes I heard this interview with DA last night

I can't stand the women and she is completely out of her depth; like you say a chip shop would be fine for her

She does have a degree in History from Cambridge so she can't be as thick as she appears to be. Never had a proper job, though, so maybe that's part of it? Although that's true of most of the MPs these days I suspect.

Unfortunately she's not even any good at fudging answers and evading issues. The most fundamental skills required of politicians. Ask Grant Shapps, he should know! I reckon he could give a masterclass in bullshitting.

So what do you call a vegetarian sausage now, 'long round brown thing with no meat in'?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I think they are absolutely right. Vegetarian cack should be labelled as such and be in a special ghettoised area of the supermarket so normal people don't have to see it. And you should have to register as a vegetarian with the police.

Not often I agree with the French but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

The French just don't do vegitarianism so this is no surprise to me whatsoever.

Their idea of a course in a restaurant is a few root vegetables on a plate and that's it.

Each to their own I suppose.

They have the right idea re meat in general but curiously they have no idea what a steak is or how to cook one properly. Although I'd take French food over British stodge any day of the week. Except for nouvelle cuisine which is just taking the piss.
