There is a reason. I play records very infrequently now, so basically, I'm aiming to have one simple and reliable deck for the occasional spin of a record. I don't want to have much money invested in this either, but functionality and reliability are important. The PL-12D fits the criteria! They have bullet proof dependabilty and sound better than most would credit. There are a few tweaks that can be made to help things too.
