They quote 96dB from 19 watts at one metre. So deduct 3dB for every halving of power.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

    That's exactly what I did. I made it just over a watt = 84db.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Yes you're right. Must have deducted once too much.

Well anyway. They seem to drive alright. Need a little more volume than the Tannoys obviously. Well impressed with the sound quality via the Quad 306. I'll have to hitch them to an SM-70 and see how that pans out. I suspect it'll be very good.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Blimey! Been listening for a while and got the system nice and warmed up with these little KEFs. This is sounding seriously good. I'm getting mid depth and transparency on a par with the big Tannoys. No lack of bass or scale either. Top end is much cleaner than I remember from the T27 tweeter, but that may be down to the improved front end and the amplification I'm using these days. Still using the Quad 306 actually. Felt no great need to go back to the Class A stuff yet.

I like the old Coda III from late 70s, are these from the next range up? Or earlier? Coda III were a bit veiled in the mids but good tone and balance.
