Disappointing experience swapping valves with agk (Andrew).. His good pair of Mazda ECC83 were one mid life tube, one gassy and dangerous, they weren't identical construction either. His response?
"That's a shame man".

Just playing first LP (The XX, Co-exist) and it sounds quite excellent. I've been very happy with the built-in phono stage of my Emotiva pre but initial impressions are that this is a worthwhile upgrade.
