Buy a scart cable with two right and left RCA leads on it.

Failing that, if you can't find one PM me your address and I'll send you one - I've got one and don't use it anymore
You know I used to have one of those, no idea what happened to it, that was 20 years ago. I'll see if Maplin have one, but it won't surprise me if they have no SCART leads at all. In which case I will take you up on your very generous offer, thanks Paul.

I don't really understand how a cable can fail unless it is physically damaged. And how does that happen when it is just sat there behind some equipment? And how can HDMI sockets fail? That was annoying because I assumed it was the (cheapo) HDMI cable so bought a fancy one from Mark Grant, only to find it wasn't the cable to blame.

Nope, had a few fail. It's a crap connector IMO.

Cables and sockets also dont always conform correctly either which can add to confusion. Ive had cables work in one unit and not in others. I guess the connection itself is none too clever either. Scarts are worse fit wise

Just been to Maplin and allowed them to relieve me of twenty quid (!) for a SCART to phono cable. I suggested to the bloke on the till that he might just as well wear a mask and brandish a pistol if he was so intent on robbing me blind. He says he is going to send me some 'vouchers' - we will see.

Not tried it yet, having a spot of luncheon first.

Hooked up new SCART cable, out of cable box straight into the AUX on the amp. Doesn't work. Now I'm stumped.
