    They're honest, in other words...

Too may tiny floorstanders out there quoting response down to 40 Hz but they never say how far down they are in level - or they just lie. But as long as people continue to mistake lots of mid-bass for deep bass it will continue.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

Technics have been employing rectangular ABRs in a few of their speakers. Not heard any, but they are supposed to be decent.

Just try getting new foam surrounds for those rectangular units when they inevitably fall apart !
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Very rare and very good. ESS AMT1 Tower speakers. (Heil Air Motion Transformer)

I'd love these. I heard a pair years ago. They sounded amazing. The AMT unit gives superb mid and top and the transmission line cabinet produces some of the best bass I've heard.

I like AMT drive units, hence owning Mark & Daniels. No idea how their implementation would compare to these, though. Not going to dump 2K to find out.

Never heard a pair. But I find that asking price a bit manic!!

it's £2K per speaker and he has 4 speakers so £4k for a pair

At that price I'd want to see photographs that show a bit more than some knackered grille cloth.

No, I don't think he is an idiot, but either he lacks experience selling expensive items or they are in shit state and he doesn't want to advertise the fact. I suspect the former.
