NEBO 6 set for November 2015

I think we all learned things on the day, I know I did, not least, just how good the gear was that I was letting go!

The Yammies are a work in progress and I would be the first to admit they did some things well and others not so well. Getting folks opinions, good or bad, was all part of the fun of the day and I appreciated peoples comments and advice. Hearing other systems has helped me re-calibrate my ears for the continuing project.

I'll get them right for next time though, even if I've got to resort to sprinkling them in fairy dust and virgins water.

Have to say Alan you were a big miss hope you make the next one mad moon got the bargain of the day those interconnects belonging to ken mind think I'm going to be well chuffed with kens proton also thought the Scottish mafia made a fantastic contribution would like to see a few kilts next time plus one for Steves air guitar amazing what a little of the old sauce can do nice to see new faces like Brian Garry and rossman good to see Colin as well what that man doesn't know about speakers isn't worth knowing mans a genius also great to see stratmangler a very knowledgable guy

I think everyone who has posted on this thread has covered all the angles . Suffice to say that I had a great time at my first Nebo and will be making every effort to make sure I have time off work to attend NEBO 7 . It was great to put faces to some of the names I have chatted to since joining AOS a few years ago and make some new friends along the way . Special thanks must go to Steve and Rich who arrange this fantastic get together . Long may it continue .

First up is RichBs beautiful JBLs . I believe that Paul from RFC refurbished these speakers including the cabinets . Absolutely to notch .



Next up is Gordons OBs . Very unusual and very nice .

I can't take any credit for the NEBO, that all goes to Steve our erstwhile organiser.

You know back when Steve mooted the idea of the first NEBO and we chatted on the phone, he was worried nobody would be interested. Best I could say was you'll never know unless you have a go and so he did. 6 NEBOs later and here we are. Lots of new pals and connections made along the way, a great local network who help each other out and people coming from afar to attend.

All I can take credit for is nudging him to give it a go. The rest is down to him.

Thanks Richard Yup , great to meet you and have a chat . I really enjoyed chatting with you and quite a few of the others at NEBO . Lovely system you have there , particularly the JBLs which look absolutely beautiful .
I look forward to NEBO 7 , if it's as good as NEBO6 then we're in for a rare treat . Well worth the journey chaps .

Yup, I completely concur with all of that. Why else do you think Macca and I embark on a 400-mile round trip on the same day to get there, or Jimbo travels from Birmingham! It's always worth the effort and never disappoints

The great thing is the vibe: like someone (Macca, I think) said, it's almost like a good stag party with some hi-fi thrown in... And there is never a sense of it being a 'competition' - just a great chance for folk to hear kit they'd very likely never hear anywhere else, discover new music and meet others from AoS, all of which creates a bond between us and strengthens the AoS community.

Certainly far better than hiding behind a computer, posting bile on forums about people, like some sad failure. Folk like that of course, will never attend events such as NEBO, as that would mean having to show their faces, and with it, the removal of the creepy anonymity that they crave, which is vital in allowing them to behave as a troll
