Yeah I'd be a bit surprised if the Eddies turned up at my place...For me..They don't sound half as good as they look....waited most of the day to hear them..and a big anti-climax....The smaller stand mount Norge..were very nice with the less involved tracks..but as the busy stuff started..they were very muddled..could have been the room considering these are a very small enclosure...and the crossovers ain't in yet...perhaps in a much smaller room these might sing...but that big room did nothing for them..they are a bonny looking speaker too..with their Sonus Faber-ish type looks..

As can already be seen here on AOS Macca has written a great review further bolstered by Marco pretty much echoing my thoughts exactly. I just thought i would add a few further observations on the day. I thought The Schooner despite the usual compromises with large function type rooms for audio demonstrations had a lot of plus points. I would appreciate some feedback on this matter gents.



Colin Topps got the ball rolling nicely i thought demonstrating his stand mounted Nordge speakers. I really enjoyed the Nils Lofgren track he played first. I have to admit to being a little impatient at this point as i was really wanting to revisit his Edingdale speakers i first heard at Owston Hall last year. Alas, i had to wait until a little later in the afternoon but when i did get to hear them i liked what i heard. As well as the systems mentioned in the Macca and Marco's reveiews i was impressed with the NVA A40 power amps. Highly musical devises to say the least.
The Pioneer PL71 really is a no nonsense design and i bask in it's simplicity. As pointed out i have a stock Denon DL103 in the sharp end as i now believe that all the bullshit written about the metal/onyx/ceramic cases for them is just that.
I was a little disappointed that we had to shelve the Phono stage bake off due to mine developing a fault in the right hand channel. However, watch this space!
I really enjoyed the final lash up with Mik Rik's lovely Radford power amp driving the Edingdales. I thought my specialist music sounded bloody great through it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day though as the evening drew to a close the Guiness and Caffrey's started to take it's toll on my middle aged liver made worse by the corned beef pie on the bar. This i fear may be the cause of a Sunday plagued by oesophagitis. A massive thanks to everyone who came. Fabulous to mix it up with the Scottish mafia, great blokes every one of them.



Oddly enough, there is a pair of Edingdales that look identical to these standing in my cave this afternoon. Now how did they get there?
