I notice some folks (Leo mainly) said the 2132's gave a muddy sound compared to the 4562's.

This is practically the opposite to how I found the OpAmps to sound.
I thought that was a wee bit odd actually?

Why odd?

The one I have is pretty old, before the lead free fiasco (ROHS) came out.
If this makes enough difference I can't say yet but will order a new ROHS version from Farnell to be sure

Hey Leo,

I just thought "odd" as it was quite the opposite to my findings is all.

Stan said something about the Wolfsen Dac chip coming in different flavours.
Dont know about that but three of us here had our 7520 modded by Tirna at the same time: so its fair to say we have the same Dac chip.
We all found a similar improvement too.

Dont know how relevent that actually is, but when I saw yours (and other) comments on the 2132 being "muddy" in comparison to the 4562 I just wondered how anyone could say that - I've found the improvement over the 4562 to be obvious.

Something in this Dac chip version schenanigans maybe?

I've just fitted the OPA2132 in the separate headphone amp and tried the Sabre dac, either this op-amp is dodgy or I just don't like it

I'll carry on using the LM4562 until a new 2132 arrives

Yes, the one I got from Farnell is stamped WM8716SEDS same as here http://theartofsound.net/forum/showp...&postcount=345

Just chucked in 2132 opamp in, bass actually has more than 1 tone like with the 4562, seems more balanced, will report back once i listen more

Well bass isn't as boomy, its a bit brighter but still a bit shouty in the upper mids with busy music
