There used to be a Tandy shop based in West Ealing. Opposite the McDonald's restaurant. I still remember seeing all the jap crap stuff in there

Their hot selling big Jamo speakers had that typical 90's look about them.

I can't even vaguely remember the Ealing Broadway branch.

There was also a big cash converters shop, right on the other end of West Ealing. This was at a time, when LS3/5a's was selling for £30!!!!

Remember them doing the Vicount. It was quite jazzy for the day and popular..was a amp and speskersetc

Mainly EMI I think, but memory on that is a bit hazy!

Was it a fella called Les, with a shop on Edgware Road (and in Acton for a while) which I can't recall the name of. Was it RTVC? He marketed his own amps etc. Nice chap. Did many deals with him. Mainly for speaker parts.

I remember Les at RTVC really well, they did a lot of god drivers in there. I bought lads of Son Audax from them at one time. I frequented Edgware Road a lot in those days, the best place for real hifi parts.

I remember a shop in Acton, my Dad took me there a couple of times, but I can't remember the name. They also used to advertise in magazines. It might have been RTV Acton. I might find a few old Practical Wireless magazines to check.

Just got Practical Wireless out, April 1965, page 1175, avert for Radio and TV Components (Acton) Ltd, 21 High Street Acton W3. This particular advert is for a portable radio, the Elegant Seven at £4.4.0

I had been watching these for a few days and as I went to see the mighty Wrexham play Cheltenham ( Boo) , I forgot to place a max bid of £50!!
Was it a bargain ??

Quite cheap but they are not vintage Celestions unless mid 1990s now counts as vintage. Which it doesn't. That range had mixed reviews and post-dates Celestion's move to China.
