    geoff i heard some tannoys at the repairs guys house last week,they were HPD295 in Chevening cabinets,they sounded rather nice.

    The Chevening is a pretty rare model. Only in production for a short while. They do sound nice.

    I'm surprised there's a pair still functioning. They were very prone to the foam cone surrounds rotting away.

    The Eaton model that replaced it is a better speaker though. That used the HPD 295A.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    They are good pics. Obviously taken by somebody who knows photography.

    The Tannoys are not the most popular series. They are first generation 'plastic cone' Tannoys and not taken seriously by many. They are actually pretty decent, just tonally different. In my collection, I have the smaller, ABR-less Ascots from the same range and they sound good enough. They're just awaiting some mods!
