I think the CD I have is just the English pressing; it's not a great recording, but I wouldn't call it bright. If I had a few bucks to spare, I would try to find a Japanese import. But that's based on my memory of the Japanese vinyl pressing.Originally Posted by HackneyRF

I think the 'brightness' came after the Nick Davis remastering. There were many positives from the remastering, the guitar parts came forward as did the drums. And it generally sounded much clearer and upfront. I suppose having grown up with it and always hearing it in a certain way, it was something like losing an old friend. The vinyl reissues a year or so ago are readily available in the U.S for not too much cash. I've not heard them but they get good press.
