Not familiar with that unit, but looking at pictures on the internet, to me DSB 208 cone looks a bit different, not so deep, a bit less flared, slightly different texture.

Looking at the paper coned B200 really made me think Elac.

Well, to me the paper coned B200 did not seem to have the magic of the old Elac units, but there was a fair old time gap in the comparison.

I used the Elac 8N148 0r 8N185 in the Hi Fi News Paraline design. The Elac and the Lowther PM6 were the only recommended units for this speaker.

With a bit of soul searching, I've decided not to go for them. I just don't have room for more speakers. (yes Grant, they are the one's I was keeping under my hat )

I predict this model will rocket in value in the near future.

Quite a few older paper coned 8" Elac units appearing on eBay lately (I have been tempted).
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

They're remarkably nice Jamie. A higher degree of transparency, detail and neutrality than you may have heard before. Certainly not your typical B200 equipped device.

these are sp1070,s which i think are elac made but coukd be wrong.. either way theyre a good price and useful to have. i should get my money back in future if needed. it may become unessessary anyways as im getting to like these tannoys now that they are on suitable bases.

Just had a look and found a few Elacs, looked in completed listings too. I'm sure the 8N148 had an Alnico magnet, probably the 8N185 did too, but I didn't find any in the listings.
