“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Yes. I've had my eye on that. No doubt the bidding will go silly towards the end. I've had one of these (and the G99) and I wouldn't mind another. Keep yer Techies mates, this would run circles around 'em!Originally Posted by struth

Not cheap really Grant. The BD1 unit (which I am fond of) is only worth about £30 to £40 and the arm around the £200 mark. The plinth is skip fodder!

Good quality contact cleaner, very cheap. Half litre aerosol of Unipart cleaner for 0.99p plus £3.95 carriage. A bargain, Unipart stuff is top quality!

I just bought two. Free postage on additional ones, making this unbelievably cheap.

Nuts! A pair of Tannoy DC3000 at a monstrous £580 asking price. They're just not that good. Same driver line up as the smaller DC2000 in bigger boxes. The pick of the bunch (from the plastic coned models) is the compact DC1000 which is more coherent and can be bought at around £100.
