I had a play with upsampling when I was using the HiFiBerry and the older model B Pi and the Pi was quickly running out of steam if I did anything more than 96KHz upsampling, although even then there was certainly a difference. It seems the Pi 2 has the requisite horse power to match the limits of what the PCM5122 DAC on the IQAudio can cope with, which I hadn't realised, so it's time to start playing again - Not that I'm really looking for further improvements of course ;-).
    Thanks for the heads up!

Don't know if you've found it yet, but it's on the squeezelite settings page. Next question is what do you enter? The best explanation of how this works in squeezelite that I've seen was posted here by John Swenson:

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...l=1#post751357

About the simplest approach is to use a combination of a "max sample rate setting" with a upsample setting of "-u X". But you are going to have to experiment to see if upsampling makes a positive difference to what you hear, and with the various options outlined in John Swenson's post.

I only have a RPi B+ so I have not spent much time on this.

    (Carried over from post 1133)
    Good news!

I swapped the white wi-fi- dongle for an Edimax type and it worked first time; all up-and-running.

Now for the NAS - when it arrives.

Pimorini plugged the offending white dongle into their set-up and it would not work, neither would a replacement. It may be that there are problems with this new type of dongle - perhaps only with Volumio - they were going to test the batch with NOOB.

I've asked for feedback on this and will report back if I hear anything.

So, my take on all this is: buy the Edimix type dongle if you have Volumio. (See: http://shop.pimoroni.com/products/wi...no-usb-adaptor)

    Thanks everyone!

    Richard

All set up now - bunged into a project box with some appropriate holes gouged in it ....

Spent this morning pratting about with router, addresses, etc and finally got it singing. Initially tried MoOde but it wouldn't recognise my wifi dongle - or scan the USB stick ... or play any music
Reverted to Volumnio/IQ Dac image of of IQaudio website.

Playing some muzak over my system now using USB stick - sounds on a par with playing WAV files on my Toshiba BluRay thru coax out (but a lot more hassle)

    TOP TIP:
If you use AIFF files and folders from iTunes you may (like me) encounter loads of hassles after updating the library ... missing files, tracks in the wrong sequence and much more besides HOWEVER the upload of the same music folders converted to WAV is infinitely better - all properly organised AND playback is also improved !!!! - win win

In an earlier post I recounted my (personal) solution to getting the mount error 22. I discovered I needed to put an extra slash at the end of the remote directory. So in your case it would be music/flac/ Of course, your mileage might vary, but it worked for me.
I've just encountered this upgrading moode to v1.8 from v1.7

I thought I had entered in the settings for my nsa320s correctly it was working fine after all but nope mount error 22. Nothing seemed to work so I deleted the mount setting and rebooted the RPi then tried again, it worked first time!

The only thing I think I may have done incorrectly the first time was to try and mount the nas as NFS, subsequent setting changes kept generating the error 22. It maybe worth trying a delete of the mount before trying different settings if things seems to be 'stuck'

You may be on to something there as that it was I first did last night (first tried as NFS), will try deleting it and set it up again.

    Using RuneAudio.
Problem mounting my NAS drives from my windows server box.
All fields in Sources setup entered correctly as far as I can tell?
mount error(13): Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

    *EDIT*
    Got it sorted.
    Case sensitive server password...
