Not sure if it's been touched on in this thread but upsampling seems to be making a huge difference in sound. I'm running mine in 32bit/192 sampling rate with Fastest sinc interpolator (flux capacitor). God knows why upsampling works.

Interesting. Anyone know if picoreplayer can pull off up sampling sleight of hand too?

this thing is a regular hoot.
had lot of fun putting the bits together in an old project box and then pissing about for hours trying to get a disk image to work using a Mac and then back and forth to the router to try each one
... gave up and booted up ye olde windows netbook and finally got the thing to show up plugged in to my monitor - delightful screen full of gibberish culminating in an old skool 'volumio' logo in archaic grafix (white text on a black screen - how cool is that!!!)
Haven't had so much fun since I spent a happy Boxing Day typing in pages of crap just to get a Sinclair ZX81 to show a ping-pong screen on my TV![]()
For all you those users of Volumio / Moode / Rune MPD based players out there have any of you tried the MPaD app for IOS to control the RPi?
It seems a far better interface to MPD than the inbuilt web interfaces that they come with...just wondering if anybody has experience of it?

There's a free version: MPoD, I feel a testing session coming on....

I'm Petar.
Didn't try MPoD, but I'm using from time to time PlugPlayer (iOS) and BubleUPNP (Android), both nice apps with nice interface.

Although the "how-to" page at https://sites.google.com/site/picore.../home/how-to-1 has no mention of re/upsampling it's supposed to have been in picoreplayer since version 1.10, over a year ago using sox.
But unless you have the latest quad core PI, upsampling via sox results in high CPU loads which can make the PI unresponsive.
I assume you're running LMS on your vortexbox. So the alternative is to do the upsampling on the server which AFIAK means using a custon.convert file. ( see this old soundheck post: http://soundcheck-audio.blogspot.co....esampling.html ). Otherwise check the vortexbox forums ..
Plenty to get your teeth into.
