I see that the next release of Moode Audio (v1.9) will have built in support for BBC radio stations....

That will be good as I have yet to successfully setup BBC Radio in RuneAudio.... more of an issue with the BBC and its bizarre new approach to radio streaming

James.... you're iMac would connect to the router via wireless as it normally does. The NAS box would show up as a storage device, would look like another computer. Out of the box it has a shared folder which you would see on you iMac and could copy music to it.

In reality the MyBookLive has a little embedded computer in it (actually runs Linux just like the raspberry pi) and one big hard disk attached. So once you connect it to the router via the ethernet cable, every other computer on the same network can see. No need for USB at all. All clever stuff!

You're welcome I already went down this road configuring RuneAudio for RPi2/HiFiBerryDigi+, so if you need I can provide you some help when you're ready with the pi-dac.

The seller stated there are 5 options for the PSU, and one of those is "1: DC-5V/2.5A". The original RPi PSU is 5V/2A. So are these 0.5A more than the original is some how dangerous. Sorry for the stupid questions, but I'm a numpty in electronics and electricity.

No it's fine. That is just the maximum that it can provide. Usually better to have an overspecced power supply in any case.

It would also mean that there is enough current to power a 2.5" hard drive from the USB port of the Pi if you want to store your music locally rather than play over the network. I'm about to build one configured like this for a friend, so I might just try one of these.
